Job Summary
As an experienced Assistant Superintendent, you will support the Superintendent in delivering safe, high-quality, on-schedule and on-budget projects. The Assistant Superintendent coordinates day-to-day field activities, supervise site crews and trades, enforce OH&S requirement, maintain project documentation, and provide timely reporting to the project team. The Assistant Superintendent will have a blend of hands-on leadership with quality control and administrative expertise. The incumbent will be resourceful, intelligent, confident and dedicated professional who is committed to building our clients trust through clarity and integrity. Also, a fair, fun and firm team player who will be the eyes and ears for our clients on our construction sites.
Assistant Superintendent's critical expectations include but not limited to the following:
- Site safety assurance and WorkSafe compliance
- Care and Control of the Construction site
- Assist with daily reporting to project manager including project progress photography
- Assist with onsite construction management
- Onsite resource coordination
- Expedite the construction schedule
- Quality control
- Client relations
- Community relations
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years onsite construction experience
- Minimum First Aid Certification Level 1 and knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS)
- Good working knowledge of current construction methods, materials, procedures, drawings, specifications and building codes
- Self-motivated, creative thinking, organized, and efficient
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently with a service-oriented attitude, courtesy, tact and diplomacy under stressful situations with constant interruption
- Budgeting and estimating skills (computer word processing and spreadsheet programs an asset)
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employment and other designated information
- Proficient with computers, multifunctional processing units, telephones and faxes
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and skills in keyboarding
- Valid driver's license

Compensation
