Job Summary
As a Labourer for Unitech you will be a resourceful, intelligent, confident, and dedicated professional who is committed to adding value to our client’s projects each and every hour spent on site. The main and most important function of your position is keeping the construction site clean and free of debris causing safety hazards, moving materials and equipment, and performing demolition tasks.
Labourer duties are the following but not limited to:
As a Labourer, duties included are the following but not limited to:
- Perform various physical duties as assigned.
- Maintain overall site safety standards.
- Loading and unloading construction material and moving materials to work areas.
- Site maintenance and upkeep of facilities and fencing.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas. Remove debris and unwanted materials to storage and disposal areas.
- Assist with temporary lighting and or heating.
- The use of power tools, electrical equipment and manual hand tools to aid in project construction.
- Hand excavation and fine grading using rakes and shovels.
- Perform some specialized tasks which may require on the job training.
- Perform other activities on construction sites, as directed.
Work Environment:
Constantly working around and with others, required to meet deadlines with severe time constraints, regularly working both outside and inside with high noise levels.
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, lift and twist at the neck and waist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet and loud environments and should have the ability to lift boxes and drawings not exceeding 100 lbs.
Mental/Motor Demands:
Often performs routine work, frequently exercises the ability to shift from one task to another, repeatedly working within time constraints while maintaining attentiveness and intensity, regularly involved in social interactions which requires personable and professional oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated, creative thinking, organized, and efficient with good oral and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Eye-hand coordination, good physical fitness, manual dexterity, and sense of balance.
